Early on in our relationship, Kim and I toyed with the idea of taking a photo every year of her wearing the winter coat above. I was inspired by a shot I had seen in London while studying abroad of a young Mick Jagger with a very similar fur collar (not to worry, the collar in Kim’s coat is faux fur). The great idea was that overtime, these annual images would serve as an illustration to the aging process, specifically to Kim’s aging process, and some day in our eighties, we would have a gallery showing of all the coat pics.
Unfortunately though, like with so many good ideas, apathy stepped in after our third year. In our defense, we also moved to sunny, Southern California, making the coat a pretty unnecessary accessory to Kim’s wardrobe. While I do regret that we failed to keep our yearly tradition going, I am very grateful for the handful of coat pics that we achieved. They remain some of my most treasured photos I have of my wife. Isn’t she a beauty?

I will save the coat forever
in that case, we may just have to resuscitate the series!
