The end is the beginning is the end…
We had a fantastic week on the West side of the East Coast, but now we’re back in LA – refreshed, revitalized and ready to take on the world!

One of my favorite past times while we’re down here in Florida is to look for sharks teeth as the beaches in Venice (where my in-laws own a winter home) contain the greatest concentration of fossilized teeth in the United States. The teeth above, we found yesterday, and in a good hour, you can easily find a couple dozen or so if you’re looking closely. Which never fails to make me wonder, just how many sharks are still out there in the water with so many teeth lingering on the beach? Needless to say, I spend much more time on the beach than in the water.

Here’s a shot of a jellyfish at the Mote Aquarium in Sarasota, which we visited yesterday with our little nephews. The Mote is really an amazing place with all sorts of interesting marine life on display from spotted dolphins to sand bar sharks, to 10 foot manatees and 200 pound tortoises. Needless to say, my nephews weren’t the only ones who’s eyes were filled with wonder at these incredible creatures.

I don’t know if there’s any better way to start a vacation than a mai tai on the beach at sunset. We’re in Florida presently with Kim’s family, enjoying a week away from all things LA.
Ah, vacation and booze – I’m in heaven…
