When It Rains, It Pours

And in LA, we mean that quite literally…

A balmy 76° in Los Angeles today. Just got done washing the car in my shorts and sandals, and I can’t say I miss the snow back in Chicago one bit!

Our little fur ball loves being in the annual holiday card, so the above was our pic for this year (in all likely hood, we’re aware that she probably has no real concept of the holidays nor holiday greeting cards, but we like to think she likes it).
Happy Holidays to you and yours, and here’s to lots of treats in the new year to come!

For me, this photo is like a metaphor for the past year. While it’s certainly had its dark and cloudy moments, in the end, the sun has still found a way through the clouds and has given us hope for better days ahead. C’mon 2010!

I’m The W.A.S.P. -
the greatest superhero of the ’80s.
I’m The W.A.S.P. -
I saved President Reagan and even some babies.
I went away on a space vacation,
but now I’m back,
to save Suburbopolis
and this great nation…

They hang like grapes
On vines that shine
And warm the lovers glass
Like friendly wine
So, I’d give this world
Just to dream a dream with you
On our bed of California stars

On Saturday, my buddy Joe and I were given the VIP treatment for the first ever Hollywood Brewfest, held at The Music Box @ Fonda and sponsored by the good folks at Future Sounds. Dozens of brewers, like Magic Hat, Angel City and The Bruery, descended onto Hollywood, and we made a point of taking our tasting glass (pictured above) to every single one of them. Needless to say, I haven’t drank that much beer in quite some time, and there was indeed a price to pay come Sunday. But it was all worth it, as we had a great time discovering several fun and tasty new micro brews, all the while enjoying a fantastic lineup of live music. Now if I could just get over this hangover…
